Now it’s my turn lol. I was born in Detroit, MI, August 22, 1965 to Carole and Clifford Herring. I am the 6th of 7 children born to Clifford but am the 1st born to Carole. Yes my dad was a busy man before he met my mom. Just a few highlights of my childhood are… Coming home from school just before XMAS in 1973 to watch the house I grew up in on fire. If it was not for my brother Larry waking up smelling smoke, him and my father both could have died. I Spent 2 weeks at my grandparents house in Midland Mi (where my mom and dad now reside). Meanwhile my folks were looking for a place to live. On January 1st 1974 we moved into, what seem at the time to an 8yr old, a big house. In 1983 Graduated from Redford High School.
I started working after my summer vacation. In 1984 I made one of many big decisions my life. I joined the Army. Yes I served my country from 1984 -1987 in though it was during peace time. I did a tour of duty in Fort Hood, TX and Germany. Believe it or not I was able to do what was needed to become a soldier…… run, push-ups, sit ups….AND SHOOT AN M16 RIFFLE (which I qualified EXPERT). After I left the military I moved to Colorado Springs, CO where I was in a long term relationship. While in Colorado Springs I attended College and received a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and an Associate in Computers in 1995. During that time I didn't work to much just odd jobs through Kelly Services. After Graduation I found a job with the local cable company doing Outbound calls (yes Telemarketing)…. I loved my job and was making good money in commissions alone and it was a part time job to boot. Unfortunately changes were coming that I had no control over…. The person I was with got a better job offer and we moved to CALIFORNIA. I left a job I loved to move to California which I always wanted to visit but unfortunately wasn't able to find a job for 2 yrs. Fast forward to 2001. Things in California were not going very well so after some long and hard soul searching it was best for me to move back home to Michigan.
Here I am at the age of 36 starting over with nothing pretty much. If it wasn't for my folks I'm not sure what would have happened. They had a house for me to live in and even helped me with my expenses until I got on my feet. It took me 2 months to do this. During this time I had a lot of time on my hands when I wasn't out on interviews. I was a tournament director on a gaming site called games.com. The game was an all American favorite called Bathe. I met several people on this site and became good friends with a lot of them. There was DECIETFUL (Amy), KGemini (Kristen), and the one who ended up changing my life Doug31Ma.
Over several months, Doug31MA and I became real close. We spent many hours on the phone talking and after having very high phone bills which we really couldn't afford; we realized that we could actually hook up a headset to the computer and have a voice conversation thru YAHOO. THANK YOU YAHOO! When we finally met I didn't want him to leave. We were working on how to get him out here to Detroit. I finally went to Boston in May of 02 to pack him up and move him here. After that we took a train from Boston to Detroit to start our new life together: Not only did we start a new life together but we both went from Doug31MA and AdoptAPet to Demonboy and Angelgirl (thanks Kristen).
After living together for 2 years Doug and I both decided it was time to get married so he choose the Date. On Sept 11th 2004 the uniting of Angel Girl and Demon Boy took place and was witnessed by family and friends that we made online. We've been married for a little over 3 years now and are very happy together
The last 5 years together have been really rough- Doug has had brain surgery for a rare condition called Chari 1 Malformation (see his page for details), at one point, we've also lived paycheck to paycheck - barely making it, and several other personal & marital issues and we've survived. If we can survive everything that we have been through - then we can survive anything - but one thing for sure - I am grateful he came into my life and shook it up and I wouldn't have changed a thing - I love Doug and he knows I would do anything for him.
MISC THINGS ABOUT ME:
I own 23 out of the 31 Elvis movies out there. I love horror movies - the bloodier & scarier the better - From 1408 to Wrong Turn and every letter in between - favorites include The Omen series, Freddy and Jason movies, The Haunting, and just about any zombie movie.
As for music, Let me tell you right off the bat I AM A DIE HARD ELVIS PRESLEY FAN, LONG LIVE THE KING…..I love the old time country classics ( George Strait, Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn), some of the new country artist (Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, Tim McGraw). I love the 80's Pop and R&B music. But I really can not stand today's Rap it’s not what it used to be and that's a shame.
When I have free time on my hands and there is nothing much on TV, I like to hang out at Pogo where my name is TheCharmedOnes05 - cause I am a big charmed fan.
I also LOVE WWE wrestling. I've only been watching it on & off over the past 5 years because of Doug. Some of my favorite wrestlers are: The Undertaker (my all time favorite), Batista & John Cena
